"Arts &"

Where Scholarly Research & Creative Activity Converge

At the Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA), creativity and scholarly research intersect to push the boundaries of innovation and collaboration. We are excited to launch "Arts &," a unifying campaign that celebrates the symbiotic relationship between creative expression and research. This campaign showcases the depth of each of our four departments – Art, Dance, Drama, and Music – and their contributions to UC Irvine’s vibrant academic and creative community. Planned for 2024–2027 academic years, follow us as we explore themes that highlight and celebrate our faculty, students and community partners by showcasing the ways the Claire Trevor School of the Arts continues to push boundaries and collaborate for the greater good.

Our Campaign: A Vision for "Arts &"

The "Arts &" campaign reflects CTSA’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary connections. For 2024-25, we are focusing on three key areas where art has the power to drive change:

  • Arts & Sciences: Discover how creative expression and scientific inquiry collaborate to create new knowledge and address global challenges.
  • Arts & Identity: Explore the role of the arts in fostering community, belonging, and personal expression, particularly at UC Irvine, a Hispanic-Serving and Asian American Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution.
  • Arts & Sustainability: Highlight CTSA’s leadership in using artistic activism to address sustainability and environmental issues, both on campus and beyond.

Tagline: "Arts & Where Scholarly Research & Creative Activity Converge"

Our tagline reflects the heart of the campaign: creative activity intertwined with academic research. The arts are not separate from the sciences or social issues—they are an integral part of these fields. Through Arts &, we underscore the importance of collaboration and innovation.
