Arts Transfer Advising & Registration 2025
Academic Advising & Registration for Incoming Arts Transfer Students
Fall 2025
Congratulations on your acceptance to the UCI Arts program! We are excited to have you join us in the fall.
Please follow the steps below for advisement and registration instructions for the fall quarter. Your academic hold will be lifted on the day of your registration session or after you've been advised by our office. Check your email for more information about the process. An email will be sent to all SIR'd fall 2025 transfers on June 3.
Note: Please do not schedule an appointment with an Arts Academic Counselor if you have not yet completed this process and registered for courses. You may schedule an appointment in August once you've registered for the fall.
1. COMPLETE the 2025 Arts Transfer Advising Session Registration Survey
- Link to Arts Transfer Advising Session Registration Survey: TBD
- You must use your UCI email to complete the survey
- In this survey, you will need to:
- Upload a copy of your unofficial transcripts from your previous institution(s) AND
- Sign-up for an Arts Transfer Advising & Registration session (7/1 & 7/2).
- Once you complete the survey, you will receive an email from an Arts Academic Counselor with your Arts Transfer Evaluation and recommended course registration for the fall quarter. **Remember to start checking your personal and UCI email at least ONCE A DAY as we and the University will be sending you information throughout the summer.**
It is strongly recommended that students participate in a session, as our office will go over policies that transfer students may not know about that will help with their transition to UCI.
In-person sessions will be about 2 hours long and virtual sessions will be about 1.5 hours long. There will be an opportunity to ask current students and Academic Counselors questions about UCI and the Arts programs, as well as meet some of your fellow new transfers. The sessions will end with students registering for the fall quarter.
Students who are unable to sign up for a session will be advised via email. Students MUST complete the survey before their advising hold is lifted.
If you are in a different time zone and need to calculate the correct local time for the virtual session, use https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html.
2. WATCH the Arts Transfer Advising Presentations
Please click on the links below to watch the presentations and pay close attention to the information covered. Students are responsible for all the information covered in these presentations. These presentations can be replayed over again. Feel free to stop, pause, or restart the video if necessary. Click on the links.Take notes. Be sure to turn up the volume on your computer before you start to hear the presentation clearly. Do not assume things are the same as your previous institution. Our goal is to provide as much information to help you better understand the expectations of your program and the UCI degree.

4. ATTEND your Arts Transfer Advising & Registration Session & REGISTER FOR CLASSES
You will be registering for your classes on the date that you signed up for on the Arts Transfer Advising Session Registration Survey, July 1 & July 3. Students who are unable to attend a virtual session or did not sign up for one will have their advising hold lifted and will register on their own starting July 7. Students MUST complete the survey before their advising hold is lifted. Please review step 3 before your session!
Sessions are for incoming students only. Guests will not be permitted into either the in-person and the virtual session. As much as we appreciate (and support) assistance from family and friends on your academic journey, we would like to use this short amount of time to establish the advisor and student relationship, especially when discussing academic requirements and registering for the first time.
