2017 Summer Academy in Expressive Robotics (Session 1)

Expressive Robotics - Session 1

July 10 - July 21, 2017
Monday - Friday
10:00am - 4:00pm
Ages 13-19

Unleash the power of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education as you build a robotic structure that moves expressively!

Campers will participate in activities related to each S.T.E.A.M. field as they work towards their final project, and will be challenged to put their creativity to the test. UCI student instructors will guide you through our onsite Maker Space, Mobile 3D Print Lab, and Arduino Portal as you work with a teammate to create an awesome ‘bot. Campers will have access to our workshop full of diverse materials, including Vex robotics parts, breadboards, LEDs, motors, art supplies, fabric, and a soldering station. Debut your inventions at our Open House showcase on the last day of camp, and learn from our guest speakers about how they use S.T.E.A.M. in their careers!

No prior coding, programming, or robotics experience is required, and course content is adjusted to the experience level of each camper. Camps do not provide overnight lodging. Need and merit-based scholarships are available thanks to Boeing and the Nicholas Foundation.
