2026 Summer Orientation, Advising and Registration
For more information about summer orientation and advising, please check back in May 2026. For more information, visit the UCI Orientation website.
Freshmen Orientation, SPOP
Visit the UCI Orientation First-Year Students page for more information.
- All students will be sent an email from UCI Orientation regarding registration for SPOP on a date to be determined in May.
- Incoming domestic freshmen will register during their SPOP session on Day 1. For more information about what is expected of students that day, visit the Arts SPOP page.
- Incoming international freshmen will register with academic counselors on a separate date. For more information, visit the Arts ISPOP page.
- An email from artscounselor@uci.edu will be sent to all students once SPOP assignments have been set. The email will include details about the advising and registration process.
- Writing Placement Information
- Math, Chemistry and Foreign Language Placement Exams
- Students will be advised by and register for the fall quarter with the Arts Student Affairs team on their designated SPOP or registration day.
- In-person SPOP sessions will run from July through August. Participation is required for all freshmen.
Arts Transfer Advising and Registration

- Incoming domestic and international transfers will be sent an email from Arts Student Affairs at artscounselor@uci.edu on June 2 with advising and registration instructions.
- Advising and registration for incoming fall 2026 transfers will take place on July 6 and July 9. Students are required to attend one of these sessions in order to register for the fall quarter.
- Students who are unable to attend a registration session will be advised by email and will enroll at a later time. Students who do not participate in advising and registration will not be able to register for the fall quarter.
- Transfer SPOP, or TSPOP, sessions will be held in August. Online participation is required for all transfers.

Graduate Student Orientation and Advising
- Mandatory Campuswide Orientation will be online. Check your UCI email for more details.
- CTSA Orientation will be held in person. Date and time to be determined.
- Program advising is conducted by the graduate faculty advisor of your program.
