Video, music, dance, and the spoken word all combine in this one man show from Jerry Pearson. The choreographer, past Artistic Director of Santa Barbara Dance Theatre and dance professor from the University of California explores the inspirations of a moving career that spans 47 years onstage. Hear and see what drives him to keep creating, after 137 dances, as he reflects on the shape of his entire creative career in dance, his “Body of Work”. Free and Open to the Public.   About Jerry Pearson:  Jerry Pearson is a professor in the Department of Theater and Dance at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He performed around the world with the Murray Louis Dance Company, the Nikolais Dance Theatre, Rudolf Nureyev and Friends and the Pearson Dance Company. For twenty years he was the Artistic Director of Santa Barbara Dance Theatre and served as Director of Dance at the University of California, Santa Barbara for fourteen years. He has created over 137 major dance works that have been performed by professional companies throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, including the National Dance Company Wales and Dance Theatre of Ireland.   Currently his creative research has extended into dance video and he continues to enjoy dancing, yoga and Tai Chi.  This multi-media one-man show, Body of Work, toured the United States, Ireland, England and New Zealand in 2014.  While on Sabbatical this Spring he will study with his Tai Chi teacher, Master Lam in China.
