Blessed with Switch
By Asher Hartman and Jasmine Orpilla

Jasmine Orpilla, performer composer and Asher Hartman, director and writer make Blessed with Switch, a dark, unnerving hacking and synching of external languages that poison and orchestrate the oceanic tides of unconscious matter within to unleash a glorious new Leviathan.

ASHER HARTMAN is a trans artist, writer, director and maker of live performances at the juncture of theater and performance. He is the founder and director of Gawdafful National Theater. JASMINE ORPILLA is an internationally awarded multi-voiced Filipino/x-American performance artist and composer of operatic installations.

The Open: A collective performance by UCI students from Spring 2024
By Simon Leung

Using “radical juxtaposition” as a guiding principle, The Open is a collaborative performance developed as an experimental artwork within the New Genres area of the Art Department. Produced under the direction of Professor Simon Leung, this project explores how the social & political dissonance of our age intersects both private life and the public sphere.

This event is co-sponsored by Illuminations and the Department of Art
