Praised in DownBeat Magazine as "a musician for this moment," composer and trombonist Michael Dessen and his trio – which includes acclaimed New York musicians Tordini and Weiss - deliver a unique evening of adventurous improvisation, intricate compositions and live electronics. Earlier in the day, at 4pm in Winifred Smith Hall, the trio will give a free, public workshop/presentation, providing a look "under the hood" at how they improvise with with intricate compositional materials and new forms of technology.
