How to Prepare for Your Advising and Registration Session
If you are a domestic student or plan to attend a domestic SPOP, please visit the SPOP page.
As an international student, you will not register during the ISPOP session in September. Instead, you may register beginning Wednesday, July 15, at 9 a.m. PDT, after you complete the Academic Canvas Modules. If you are in a different time zone, please use the Time Zone Converter.
We will host a virtual group advising session on Tuesday, July 14, at 5 p.m. PDT to review expectations and recommended course registration. If you are unable to attend this session, email artscounselor@uci.edu for your recommended course selections.

https://canvas.eee.uci.edu/courses/83450
You are expected to complete the modules in the Claire Trevor School of the Arts SPOP Advising/Registration 26-27 Canvas page before you are able to register for the fall quarter. There is a lot of information to review, so please allow yourself a few hours to complete the modules. Be sure to select “Mark as Done” after completing each module so you can continue.
Modules that must be completed before you can register:
- Meet Your Arts Advising Team & Advising Essentials
- Your UCI Degree & Major Requirements
- Know Before You Plan: Credits, Placements & Pre-Advising Questionnaire
- Planning & Registering for Your First Quarter
Modules include PowerPoint presentations, videos, printable PDFs and resource links.
Once you complete the presentations, start reviewing the fall schedule. Use the following resources to help plan your fall schedule. We recommend making more than one plan.
If you have any issues accessing the modules, email artscounselor@uci.edu.
Attend the Virtual Advising Session
The Academic Counselors from the Arts Student Affairs team will host a virtual advising session on Tuesday, July 14, at 5 p.m. PDT. If you are in a different time zone and need to calculate the correct local time, use the Time Zone Converter.
Please note that the advising and registration session is only for incoming international students who are declared Arts majors, including Art, Dance, Drama, Music and Arts Undeclared. We can only accommodate students assigned to this specific session, and we will take attendance.
If you are unable to attend this session, we will advise you by email. Please contact artscounselor@uci.edu.
Day of Your Registration
You are expected to have completed the advising and registration modules before your registration date and to have a general understanding of how to register for classes. Students who do not complete these modules will not have their academic hold lifted to register and will register at a later date.
