Join us for the opening reception of HIT LIKE A TRAIN, the 2026 Undergraduate Honors Thesis Exhibition at the University Art Gallery and Room Gallery on Thursday, June 4, 6–8 p.m. Organized by faculty mentor Amanda Ross-Ho, the exhibition features thesis presentations by nine students from the Art Honors cohort:

Isabella Anderson
Mae Bradley
Yujeong Cho
Jebediah Dunn
Jered Frigillana
Kaia King-Hall
Rey Mar Negrete
William Pedroza
Junhao Zeng

HIT LIKE A TRAIN brings together a diverse range of practices spanning painting, sculpture, ceramics, performance, video, installation and interactivity. Exploring themes such as identity formation, artificial intelligence, queer positionality, consumption, memory, nature and perception, the exhibition considers questions of agency and subjecthood within contemporary conditions.

Additional parallel programs will take place in conjunction with the exhibition:

Ahead of the opening, Jered Frigillana will present THEMATHEATRE, a video installation screening on the 3rd floor west hallway of the ACT Building, June 1–5. The installation features a curated loop of films running continuously, 1–5 p.m. daily. Screening schedules and additional details are available online here.

On opening night, June 4, Junhao Zeng will present The Body Is Not Mine, a performance in the University Art Gallery. The audience-interactive work invites participants to control five red dots corresponding to parts of the body: two hands, two feet and a torso.
