Fall 2026 Academic Advising and Registration for Incoming Arts Transfers

Congratulations on your acceptance to UCI Arts. We are excited to have you join us in the fall.

Please follow the steps below for advisement and registration instructions for the fall quarter. Your academic hold will be lifted on the day of your registration session or after you have been advised by our office. Check your email for more information about the process. An email will be sent to all SIR'd fall 2026 transfers on June 2.

Note: Please do not schedule an appointment with an Arts Academic Counselor if you have not yet completed this process and registered for courses. You may email artscounselor@uci.edu throughout the summer with your questions. Meetings with academic counselors will begin in late September.

1. Complete the 2026 Arts Transfer Advising Session Registration Survey

  • Complete the Arts Transfer Advising Session Registration Survey.
    • You must use your UCI email to complete the survey.
  • In this survey, you will need to:
    • Upload a copy of your unofficial transcripts from your previous institution or institutions.
    • Register for an advising session or be advised by email to register on your own.
  • Once you complete the survey, you will receive an email from an Arts Academic Counselor with your Arts Transfer Evaluation and recommended course registration for the fall quarter.

Remember to start checking your personal and UCI email at least once a day. Our office and the university will send you information throughout the summer.

It is strongly recommended that students participate in a session. Our office will review policies that transfer students may not know about and that will help with their transition to UCI.

In-person and virtual sessions will be about 1.5 hours long. There will be an opportunity to ask current students and Academic Counselors questions about UCI and the Arts programs, as well as meet some of your fellow new transfers. The sessions will end with students registering for the fall quarter.

Students who are unable to attend a session will be advised by email and will register for courses on their own. Students must complete the survey before their advising hold is lifted.

If you are in a different time zone and need to calculate the correct local time for the virtual session, use the Time Zone Converter.

2. Watch the Arts Transfer Advising Presentations

Please watch the presentations below and pay close attention to the information covered. Students are responsible for all information covered in these presentations. The presentations can be replayed, and you may stop, pause or restart the video as needed. Be sure to turn up the volume on your computer before you begin. Do not assume things are the same as your previous institution.

Watch the Arts major presentation that pertains to your major. These presentations include audio voiceover.

3. Plan Your Courses

Once you complete the presentations, start reviewing the fall schedule. Use the following resources to help plan your fall schedule. We recommend making more than one plan.

Note: Transfer Evaluations are based on unofficial transcripts, so information may change once UCI receives your official final transcripts.

Art, B.A.
Dance, B.A. and B.F.A.
Drama, B.A. and B.F.A.
Music, B.A. and B.Mus.

4. Attend Your Arts Transfer Advising and Registration Session and Register for Classes

You will register for classes on the date you selected on the Arts Transfer Advising Session Registration Survey: July 6 or July 9. Students who are unable to attend a virtual session or did not sign up for one will have their advising hold lifted and will register on their own starting July 10.

Students must complete the survey before their advising hold is lifted. Please review Step 3 before your session.

Sessions are for incoming students only. Guests will not be permitted into the in-person or virtual session. We appreciate and support assistance from family and friends on your academic journey, but we use this time to establish the advisor and student relationship, especially when discussing academic requirements and registering for the first time.
