Irene Messoloras is a Greek American conductor, educator and clinician dedicated to inspiring musicians and audiences through a passion for musical excellence. She serves as director of choral activities and associate chair of the Department of Music at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine, where she conducts the University Chamber Singers and Concert Choir and teaches courses in conducting. Known for her engaging pedagogy, she leads ensembles that push the boundaries of choral performance through educational initiatives, innovative programming and global collaborations.

In addition to her university work, Messoloras is the conductor of Meridian, a London-based professional choir recognized for its refined artistry and bold repertoire choices, blending timeless choral masterworks with contemporary voices. Both her university and professional ensembles are partnered with Signum Records, sharing their distinctive sound with audiences worldwide on all major streaming platforms.

Under Messoloras’ leadership, her choirs have earned national recognition, with invitations to perform at the American Choral Directors Association national conferences in 2021 and 2023. Recent highlights also include appearances at Carnegie Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, Live from London performances, the National Association for Music Education national conference, as well as national commercial campaigns and professionally produced music videos.

Her achievements include the grand prize for conducting at the World Classical Music Awards (2023), the grand prize at the Vivaldi International Music Competition (2023), and first place with special recognition at the Bach International Music Competition (2023). In 2024, Messoloras’ UCI Chamber Singers earned first place in the American Prize Classical Music Competition, receiving the Ernst Bacon Award for Excellence in the Performance of American Choral Music and second place for best choral performance.
