Junko Nojima

Junko Nojima

Junko Nojima has been a collaborative pianist at the University of California, Irvine, since 2005. She received her Master of Music degree in piano performance from Indiana University and her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Science degrees from UC Irvine. Her principal teachers include Edmund Battersby, Willem Van Overeem and Erika Chary.

She is the recipient of numerous awards, including first prize in the Young Artists Concerto Competition, the Piano Festival Competition, and an honorable mention in the International Piano Recording Competition. During her studies at Indiana University, she was also recognized with the JACL Aiko Susanna Hiratsuka Memorial Performing Arts Scholarship and the Marion and Eubie Blake Music Scholarship.

Nojima has made solo appearances in the International Young Artists Peninsula Music Festival and has performed with orchestras across the United States as well as at international music festivals. In 2008, she was a soloist at the Beijing Conservatory in a celebration concert for the Beijing Summer Olympic Games.

Prior to joining UC Irvine, she was a staff pianist for the Young Violinist and Cellist Programs at Indiana University and served as a collaborative pianist and instructor at Santa Ana College.
