UCI Giving Day on April 28 to Support the Claire Trevor School of the Arts
Support scholarships, creative research and professional pathways for UCI Arts students
The University of California, Irvine will mark its 10th annual Giving Day on Tuesday, April 28, with a campuswide call to support the programs that shape the university’s future. At the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, the day centers on investing in students, faculty and the creative work that defines UCI Arts.
Through the #TogetherForUCIrvine campaign, donors can support more than 175 initiatives across the university. For UCI Arts, Giving Day offers a focused opportunity to advance the work of the departments of Art, Dance, Drama and Music, while strengthening the school’s role as a hub for creative research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
As the only comprehensive arts school in the University of California system, the Claire Trevor School of the Arts provides rigorous artistic training within a top 10 public research university. Students work at the intersection of practice and research, where creative exploration is shaped by new ideas, evolving technologies and cross-disciplinary exchange.
“On this Giving Day, you have a special opportunity to directly impact what’s possible for our students,” said Tiffany López, Claire Trevor Dean of the Arts. “Your gift, in any amount, provides the resources and flexibility our departments need to open doors, from scholarships and professional development to interdisciplinary exploration and meaningful engagement with visiting artists.”
Supporters are invited to make a gift to the department of their choice, providing flexible funding where it is needed most. These unrestricted funds allow departments to respond to emerging opportunities, expand access for students and strengthen professional pathways that connect classroom learning to real-world experience.
Last year, the UCI Arts community of alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends came together to make Giving Day a success. This year, the school aims to build on that momentum and deepen its impact.
Gifts made on Giving Day support key priorities across the school, including:
- Expanding access through scholarships, residencies and guest artist experiences
- Strengthening career pathways through internships and partnerships with leading arts organizations
- Advancing interdisciplinary collaboration across art, science, technology and culture
- Enhancing the studios, classrooms, stages and galleries essential to student work
In addition, matches and challenges throughout the day amplify each contribution, unlocking additional funding and increasing the impact of every gift.
Every contribution helps sustain creative research, support faculty innovation and bring productions to life on stage and behind the scenes. It also ensures that students have access to the mentorship, resources and experiences that prepare them to lead in the creative economy.
When donors give on April 28, they join a global community committed to advancing creativity, research and opportunity at UC Irvine.
