Professor Irene Messoloras Featured on KUSC’s Classical Californians Broadcast Station
The UC Irvine choral conductor and faculty member shares a curated selection of works spanning Manuel de Falla to holiday repertoire
UC Irvine Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Music faculty member Irene Messoloras is featured on Classical Californians' weekly program from KUSC. KUSC is the largest listener-supported, non-profit classical music radio station in the U.S., as part of the Classical California network, operated by the University of Southern California (USC). The episode is available to stream online and on demand.
“I am delighted to share a selection of music that has shaped and inspired my artistic journey on Classical Californians,” said Messoloras. “I hope listeners find moments of joy, reflection, and connection in every piece.”
Messoloras serves as head of choral activities and conductor of the UC Irvine Choirs and the 2024 and 2025 American Prize-winning UCI Chamber Singers, as well as Meridian, a professional choir based in London. Her selections for the program reflect a wide emotional and stylistic range, from the dramatic intensity of Manuel de Falla’s "El Amor Brujo" to the luminous beauty of holiday repertoire, including Ola Gjeilo’s arrangement of "The First Nowell," performed by the UCI Chamber Singers with soprano and recent graduate Isabelle Knowles ’25.
Listeners are invited to experience this musical program and gain insight into Messoloras’ artistic perspective by tuning in to Classical Californians on KUSC.
