Paul Cornish is a Los Angeles-based pianist and composer who has performed internationally with prominent artists across genres, including Joshua Redman, KNOWER, Snoh Aalegra, HAIM, Kanye West, and Terrace Martin. With Martin, he co-composed music for NOVA, the 2024 Grammy-nominated EP by singer-songwriter James Fauntleroy.
A native of Houston, Cornish attended the city’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, known for producing Robert Glasper, Jason Moran, Chris Dave and others. He earned a degree in jazz studies from the USC Thornton School of Music in 2018 and received a full fellowship to the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz at UCLA, completing the program in 2020.
Cornish was one of three finalists in the 2023 Herbie Hancock International Jazz Piano Competition and a finalist in the 2023 American Pianists Association Jazz Competition.
