Michael Kallin

Michael Kallin is one of the most in-demand musicians in Los Angeles, enjoying a varied career across many facets of the city’s music scene.

A versatile trumpeter, Kallin has performed throughout Europe and Asia in orchestral, pop, and solo settings, and has recorded extensively for film and television. He has also conducted performances featuring principal musicians from the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Long Beach Symphony, Pacific Symphony, and Pasadena Symphony.

In addition to his performance career, Kallin is deeply involved in orchestration and music preparation for media. As a session supervisor, he has managed recording projects worldwide. His orchestrations can be heard in film, television, video games, and Grammy-winning albums. Most recently, he served as orchestrator for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the latest installment in Activision’s blockbuster franchise.

Kallin is also a dedicated educator. He has taught at the University of Southern California, the Colburn Community School, the University of California, Irvine, and Concordia University. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara (B.M. 2014) and the USC Thornton School of Music (M.M. 2016, D.M.A. 2021), he is committed to sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of musicians.

His primary teachers include Thomas Hooten, Boyde Hood, Jennifer Marotta, and Grant Hungerford.
