Composer and pianist Kelly Moran returns for a solo performance on April 23, 2027, to the Claire Trevor School of Arts where in 2012 she completed her M.F.A. in the Department of Music's Integrated Composition, Improvisation and Technology (ICIT) program, in collaboration with the Department of Dance. Over the past decade, the New York-based artist has built a body of work that reimagines the piano's expressive possibilities, earning recognition across classical, avant-garde and metal circles alike. Her latest album, Moves in the Field, her first in six years, was celebrated by the New York Times as a tender yet resilient set of piano pieces marking a return after a period of personal and creative challenges. Moran has collaborated with an array of contemporary artists, including FKA Twigs, Yves Tumor, The Avalanches, Kelsey Lu, Oneohtrix Point Never and Margaret Leng Tan. This concert will feature her works on the Yamaha Disklavier with major support from Gassmann Electronic Music.
