Creative Music Making Across The Borderlands

Co-led by Wilfrido Terrazas and Michael Dessen, Cauces Sónicos (Sonic Channels) is a two-year project exploring nodes of cross-border interaction among artistic communities, musical migration, intergenerational creativity and horizontal processes of teaching and learning. This concert showcases the collective creativity of the project’s core ensemble, bringing together artists from Southern California and Baja California to explore different experiences of border life through music. The concert features original compositions by members of the ensemble, which is comprised of faculty and doctoral students from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, UC San Diego and UC Irvine, as well as professional artists based in Ensenada, MX.
