The University of California, Irvine choral program believes its mission is to provide a foundation in musicianship, repertoire, and performance that will enhance the quality of life of our students as well as the community that we are a part of.

This will be achieved by offering the highest quality educational experiences possible for students of all ages and backgrounds.

While we dedicate ourselves to preparing students to pursue music as a profession, we also believe that all students, regardless of major, will be effective leaders in their communities and professions when enriched with the opportunity to explore and develop their personal musical talents and creative imagination.

Today the UCI Choral program offers the following:

  • A choir for each singer, from beginner to the advanced musician.
  • Choral-orchestral masterworks with professional soloists and instrumentalists.
  • Domestic and international tours.
  • Performances at festivals, collaboration with guest conductors as well as composers.
  • Repertoire from the renaissance to the recent era with a focus on underrepresented composers.
  • Numerous opportunities for student leadership.

It’s been great to connect with students and share with them what I’ve learned. I really enjoy UCI. The university has allowed me to gain an appreciation for classical music and has challenged me to pursue a more diverse repertoire. I’m very proud of the growth I’ve experienced here. I’ve grown exponentially.
