Ensembles
The Department of Music’s many ensembles are open by audition to all UCI students, and present public concerts throughout the year. UCI Choirs
The mission of the University of California, Irvine choral program is to provide a foundation in musicianship, repertoire, and performance that will enhance the quality of life of our students and the community.
Symphony Orchestra
The UCI Symphony Orchestra is one of the premier large performance ensembles in the Department of Music and offers music majors, non-music majors, faculty and other community members an opportunity to study and perform symphonic music of the ages.
Wind Ensemble
The UCI Wind Ensemble is an advanced ensemble devoted to the study and performance of music composed for varying combinations of wind and percussion instruments.
Jazz Ensembles
The UCI Jazz Orchestra is dedicated to performing a wide range of big band repertoire, from classic works to contemporary sounds. The UCI Jazz Small Groups focus on diverse jazz improvisation practices, and are taught by a world-renowned jazz faculty.
Opera and Vocal Arts
UCI Opera and Vocal Arts has a proud tradition of pre-professional training for young singers in concert and staged productions.
Athletic Bands
The Department of Music is not affiliated with the UCI Athletic Bands program, which exists to serve the University as a whole, and to provide an educational and performance opportunity open to all qualified musicians, regardless of major and inclusive of community members.
