NICKEL MINES, May 31, Jun. 1, 3-7
May 31, Jun. 1, 3-7
Nickel Mines is a world premiere movement-theatre work interpreting a 2006 Lancaster, Pennsylvania Amish schoolhouse shooting in which 5 young girls were killed, followed by the shooter's self-inflicted death. This piece deals with the epidemic of school shootings in America, the divisive topics of gun control and mental illness, the media's sensationalist hunger for these kinds of events, and most importantly, the choice to forgive versus condemn, which is the ne-plus-ultra of justice, thereby capping off our season.
