 internationally acclaimed haegeum (traditional Korean string instrument th
 at resembles a vertical fiddle) performer and educator\, currently serving
  as a Professor at the Department of Korean Music in the College of Music\
 , Seoul National University. With over 30 years of professional experience
  as a haegeum performer\, Dr. Noh has dedicated her career to expanding th
 e boundaries of the haegeum and presenting its future direction through co
 mmissioning and premiering a large body of solo and chamber music by livin
 g composers while continuing to perform traditional music on various stage
 s across the world.</p> <p>Dr. Noh holds a Bachelor of Music\, Master of M
 usic\, and Doctor of Musical Arts from Seoul National University. She has 
 served as a Member of KBS Traditional Orchestra and a Professor at the Seo
 ul Institute of the Arts before joining the Seoul National University. Cur
 rently\, she is actively engaged in Korean academia as a Vice President of
  The Society of Haegeum Practitioners\, a member of the Korean Traditional
  Music Educators' Society and Gajeunakhoe\, and as a Successor of Cheoyong
 mu\, National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 39. </p> <p>She has been aw
 arded First Prize Winner of the Dong-A Traditional Music Competition and P
 eace Prize at the World Culture Open. As a passionate educator\, she has p
 ublished a book entitled Haegeum Performance Techniques for Contemporary C
 omposition – Research & Application along with her DMA dissertation\, A St
 udy of Haegeum Playing Techniques for Contemporary Composition. Dr. Noh ha
 s released eight solo albums\, held twenty-eight solo recitals under the t
 itle of The Deer Plays the Haegeum\, and performed with prestigious orches
 tras worldwide. Recently\, she has released a compilation album featuring 
 haegeum sanjo\, folk songs\, and contemporary repertoires which represent 
 the current haegeum music. </p> <p>Dr. Noh is dedicated to the globalizati
 on of the haegeum and has been presenting concerts and workshops internati
 onally since her solo recital at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2022. Her pu
 blication\, The Haegeum: A Comprehensive Guidebook for Composers and Perfo
 rmers\, written in Korean and English\, is expected to contribute to the p
 romotion of the international audience’s interest and professional elabora
