 ents the work of contemporary artists committed to experimenting in the ma
 rginal areas where artmaking\, practice-based research\, and scholarship i
 ntersect. Some of the selected artists stage their work in laboratory sett
 ings\, some in studios\, and some in wild or abandoned landscapes\, but al
 l interrogate the ways in which art is positioned in a culture that contin
 ues to marginalize artists working across disciplinary boundaries. The art
 ists were among those featured in Jackson and LaFarge's anthology Experime
 ntal Practices in Interdisciplinary Art: Engaging the Margins (Brill\, 202
