The evening opens with the UCI Chamber Singers performing Bach's Cantata No. 4: Christ lag in Todesbanden\, one of the composer's ea rliest and most emotional powerful works — a meditation on death and resur rection that pulses with fugal intensity and beauty.
The full forces of choir and orchestra then take the stage for a curated journey through Beethoven's sacred masterworks: the soaring “Hallelujah' from Christ on th e Mount of Olives\, alongside movements drawn from the monumental Missa So lemnis and Mass in C major.
