To make its conferences accessible to all qualified scholars in the field of seventeenth-century music, the Society for Seventeenth-Century Music offers one or more grants to assist those who do not otherwise have access to travel funds to attend the annual spring conference. Eligible candidates include students pursuing a degree in music beyond the bachelor's degree who do not receive adequate travel funding from their home institutions, independent scholars (those with no current institutional affiliation), and junior faculty (those in temporary academic appointments or in the first three years of a tenure-track appointment) who do not receive adequate travel funding from their home institutions. The grant includes up to $750 to subsidize transportation costs and a waiver of all conference fees (including those for meals provided by the conference). No applicant may receive a travel grant from the Society in two consecutive years.
