For over 25 years, Aleck Karis has been one of the leading pianists in the New York contemporary music scene. Particularly associated with the music of Elliott Carter, Mario Davidovsky and John Cage, Karis has championed their works all over the world. He has released four solo piano discs featuring music by Mozart, Stravinsky, Schumann, Chopin, Carter and Cage. His most recent disc "Late Piano Music of Fredric Chopin" was released in 2009 to critical acclaim
