On Saturday, January 10th as a part of the UCI Music Department Faculty Artist Series, pianist Lorna Griffitt will be joined by three major prize-winning artists for an evening of great chamber music. Critically acclaimed violinist Haroutune Bedelian, whose first prizes include the BBC Violin Competition, will perform the Mozart B-flat Major Sonata, K. 454 for Piano and Violin, followed by creative flutist / composer Nicole Mitchell, a Doris Duke Artist, premiering her most recent composition “Wild Card for Flute and Piano”. The program will conclude with pianist Claude Cymerman, Grand Prize Winner of the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud International Piano Competition performing the Gabriel Fauré Dolly Suite for piano four-hands and the Brahms Variations on a Theme by Haydn for Two Pianos.
